Experience Forest School (with a parent/caregiver) - AM - Confed Park NW Calgary - Late Fall 2024
Have you wondered about the benefits of play in nature? How can you support open-ended play? What does emergent curriculum look like? How to manage risks outdoors?
Come check it out at our "Experience Forest School" program. This is a parent/caregiver and child class that will give children (and caregivers!) a sense of what a day of play with friends in the Forest can look like!
Time: 9:45 am - 11:45 am
Ages: 18 months to 4 years old
Date: 5 sessions (November 19, 26, December 3, 10 and 17
Location: Meet us outside in Confederation Park NW (exact location to be sent for registrants)
Class size: Maximum of 18 children with parent/caregiver
Our Forest School Educators will be on site to offer the group a sense of Forest School - offering a mix of structured activities with open-ended play with curated materials, story, art, tea and time to explore and uncover the secrets of this natural space. Caregivers will have time to play and connect with other like-minded folks - giving caregivers and children a chance to make new friends and connect with old ones.
This is also a great way to give children the time to become independent and ready for un-parented classes.
This class will be held entirely outside. In the case of extreme weather we have the upper level of Rosemont Community Hall. Children and caregivers should come dressed for the weather with nut-free snacks and a water or hot drink. City bathrooms are available nearby.
